I was married and divorced to a Thomas Vivian Heenan and we had three beautiful
Heenans: Alison Michelle Heenan now married (Kaspersetz) and living in New Jersey
USA , Brett Thomas Heenan (Hee - man) serving in the Australian Army in Townsville
Queensland, and Melissa Joy Heenan living at home with me in Perth WA. Tom's
father was also Thomas Heenan and he passed away earlier this year in Perth, Western
Australia. He had a sister Maureen, three brothers Jimmy, Mervyn and Desmond -
only Des is still alive. In 1996 I was offered a book entitled The World Book
of Heenans via Burkes Peerage and Family Heritage Australia does anyone know
if this book is still available as I would like one

"My name is Jacqueline Mae Heenan (now Sherwood) and I was born in Hastings,
New Zealand. My father was Ivan Bentley Heenan, born in Gore, New Zealand
and my mother was Maisie. I have two sisters, Pat and Catherine. I believe
our ancestors travelled to New Zealand from somewhere in the centre of Ireland
and would love to be contacted by any of them. I live in Sydney, Australia."

I live in Upper Hutt, a city 35k north of Wellington, the capital of New Zealand.
My Father was Cyril Heenan, born circa 1920 in Blaketown, Greymouth, New Zealand. My
Grandfather was Vincent (Snow) Heenan, born Hokitika, New Zealand. My Great
Grandfather was Thomas James Heenan, born Australia, died Hokitika. Married Mary
Kearns of Hokitika. Their eldest son, Thomas, was killed at Chunuk Bhar, Gallipoli,
August 1915. Their second son Vincent (Snow) was twice wounded at Gallipoli and
went on to serve in France. He married Theresa Stevens in Hokitika, then moved
to Wanganui where he was a builder for many years. It is believed that Thomas
James left Australia hurriedly, and we don't know exactly where he was born. We
are not sure if he came here on his own, or with his parents. |
